Check-in day is fast approaching and the team can't wait to welcome you at true Swansea! We know moving away from home can be stressful, which is why a member of our friendly team will be there to greet you as you arrive and aim to ensure a quick, friendly and smooth check-in experience!

Are you sharing your room with a dual occupant? Please complete our dual occupant form here so we can register your dual occupant in our system (this means we can give you both a room key!).

Meet the team...

I’m Leah, General Manager here at true Swansea. I have a wealth of experience in both the hospitality and student accommodation sector and have a passion for guest service, experience and delivery. I motivate my team to achieve operational excellence each and every day. How you feel when you live with us is important to me, so I welcome any feedback you have to make your stay even better!

 

Your safety is paramount to us and to offer reassurance - I am First Aid, Mental Health First Aid and Fire Marshall trained. I also hold an IOSH Managing Safely qualification, so you are in great hands.

I’m Lauren, Assistant Manager here at true! I’ve spent a number of years in management roles around the world undertaking a wide variety of jobs. I’ve spent a lot of time living away from home, friends and family and totally understand how nervous or lonely you may feel when you first arrive. If you need some words of wisdom, please come and talk to me.

Got a problem? It really takes a lot to phase me! Toilet blocked? Need to vent? Don’t understand your assignments? I’m your gal…!

I’m Natasha and I am the team leader here at true. I am bubbly, fun and friendly and make a point of going above and beyond for our guests. If you need help with ANYTHING, please give me a shout! I love connecting with people and you will often find me hosting true life events. In my spare time - I enjoy gaming, playing my guitar and I am currently planning for my wedding in November!

Guest Experience Assistant

I’m Amber, Guest Experience Assistant. I am guest focused and more importantly – fun! I love getting to meet new people and can’t wait to meet you when you come to live with us at true. I work at true part-time, helping with the planning and delivery of our true life events programme but I am also a University student myself so I know just how tough student life can be at times so can help provide advice, support and a listening ear should you need it!

I’m Daisy, Guest Experience Assistant here at true Swansea. My key role is to ensure your time with us is comfortable and truly memorable. I assist in the planning and delivery of our market–leading true Life event programme and hope to meet you when I host some of the exciting events that we have planned for you! Housekeeper

Hi, I’m Aggie, one of the Housekeepers here at true Swansea! I have many years of experience in this role so can help you with your cleaning needs or questions! I enjoy drinking coffee (especially from Doza) and enjoy having the opportunity to engage with our guests as I go about my duties! When I’m not at work I enjoy nothing more than a good book or watching a film!

Housekeeper

I am Angharad, a Housekeeper at true Swansea! I have a keen eye for detail and ensuring you have a clean living environment is of upmost importance to me! I make sure our communal areas are always clean, tidy and ready to use. You will see me buzzing about the accommodation blocks with my cleaning trolley but like a quick chat if I see you around the accommodation.

Maintenance Operative

I’m Karl, Maintenance Operative! My specialty is carpentry but have a wealth of experience in general maintenance and I enjoy the variety of jobs that come up here at true. If something is a problem for you in your room, then it’s a problem for me too. No problem too big or too small, I’ll fix them all! Luckily I am a multi tasker and can usually respond quickly to any maintenance issues you may encounter.

Night concierge

I’m Bode. I am a bit of a night owl and part of the night concierge team at true Swansea! I am an original team member and have been working at true since we first opened our doors. I typically work from 8pm to 8am and am a friendly face around the accommodation in the evening! I am here to make sure the accommodation is kept safe and secure whilst you are asleep. I am passionate about cooking and have been known to whip up a storm and have even hosted cooking classes as part of our true Life events programme!

Night concierge

I’m Angharad (yes there’s two of us, traditional Welsh name…). I’m part of the night concierge team and have a wealth of experience in the student accommodation sector. I’ve done a variety of different jobs in student accommodations over the years so there’s not much that can get past me...! I am very approachable, so If you have trouble sleeping and want to take a break from your room, pop down and have a chat! We enjoy the company through the night!

Rebecca

Night concierge

I’m Rebecca, part of the Night Concierge team. I enjoy working at night and am very active when everyone else is usually asleep. It’s always amazes me just what kind of thing can happen in the still of the night. I have a hands-on approach which allows me to respond quickly to any issues that may arise as they unfold. I am a quick thinker, work on logic and I am always keen to be part of the resolution to any problem!

Complete your true student and Swansea University onboarding

By this stage, you should have completed your onboarding with Swansea University. Now, it's time to complete your true onboarding so we are able to check you into your new room! Helpful arrival information

What time can I check in?

You can check in from 10am on the day that your contract starts. If you arrive earlier, we will always try to accommodate an earlier check in where possible but this cannot be guaranteed.

Is there parking at true Swansea?

We have limited car parking onsite, bookable on a first come, first served basis at £25.00 per week. Parking is strictly for those who have reserved and booked a space with us. Please avoid using car parking bays at any time during your stay. If you wish to book a car parking space (subject to availability), please contact our sales team.  

I’m arriving by car and have not secured parking for this academic year, where do I go?

If you are arriving by car, we will have team members permitting access to our car park and coordinating on the day to allow you to drop items off curbside. Your car will then need to be moved to allow the next car to pull up and unload. The nearest car park to true Swansea is the High Street NCP, 47 Strand, Swansea, SA1 1NS. This car park is approximately 2 minutes from the accommodation and a 7-minute walk. Car park charges vary from £0.50 for 1 hour to £6.00 per day. 

Please be mindful that council parking attendants may be operating in the surrounding area, so ensure that you adhere to any parking restriction signage. Parking on double yellow lines or at the bus stop outside of the accommodation may result in a parking fine, which true student do not accept any liability for.

I’m not driving, how do I get to true Swansea?

Travelling by train

We are just a 12-minute walk away from Swansea Train Station. If you have too much to carry, Taxis are available outside the station and will cost approximately £6.00 to true Swansea.

 

Travelling by bus

The address for Swansea Bus Station is Swansea, SA1 3QX. From the bus station, it is approximately a 27-minute walk, 23-minute bus journey or 7-minute taxi to the accommodation.

 

Cycling

It’s unlikely you will be travelling by bicycle to check in, but incase you plan on bringing your bike with you, we have plenty of outdoor cycle storage for you to secure your bike. Please ensure you bring your own strong, secure bike lock!

Where should I go when I arrive at true Swansea?

If you are arriving by car, enter the car park. Our team will be coordinating your arrival and will direct you to enable you to check-in.

For all other guests, arrive at true Swansea and enter via the main entrance gate. On arrival, you will be met by a member of our friendly team who will check you in, provide you with your room key and take you to your room!

How long will it take to check-in?

Our team work hard to ensure a quick, smooth and hassle-free check-in experience. Should it be busy when you arrive, you may find there is a short wait before we can get you checked in. We will provide you with refreshments while you wait and be reassured, we try to keep any wait to a minimum.

What should I bring to be able to check in?

It is useful to have a note of your unique booking reference, however this is not essential. All you need is your Photographic ID (e.g. passport or driver's license) and proof of student status (e.g. your student card or university email). If you have not received your student card by the time you come to check in, this must be presented to us within 5 days.

Move-In Essentials

We have partnered with Unpacked so you can create your own pack of uni essentials. If you choose delivery to your new true student home, the pack you create will be waiting for you in your room when you arrive!
